TFH had the opportunity and pleasure of interviewing an amazing and inspirational individual, Dr. Dale Carrison. While "Dr. Dale" is well known in the emergency medicine world and has been featured on televisions shows in the past, we wanted to introduce him here to our community.
From his time as a FBI agent, to practicing as an Emergency Physician, he gives an amazing interview. He discusses some personal health issues, including his stroke while scuba diving and getting "sparked" or cardioverted with electricity in his own emergency department, motorcycle crashes, and bull riding; as well as his professional endeavors, being a Deputy Sheriff, and hunting suspects as an FBI Agent, his role as The Chief of Staff at UMC Hospital, practicing as an Attending Emergency Physician at UMC Trauma Center, and being the Medical Director for both The Las Vegas Motor Speedway and The Clark County Fire Department. He discusses his is path to becoming The Chairman of Nevada's Homeland Security Commission, the evolution of emergency medicine and state trauma systems, teaching as a Clinical Professor for UMC Hospital's Emergency Medicine Residency program.
