June 19th 2010 was Go Skate Day in North Kohala, complete with the annual road closure. Where else do they close the road for skaters?
This year was very special in that it was also opening day for the Roots Skate Park in Kapa'au. TFH would like to thank Richey Riggs, Kimberly Lepold, Brian and Charlene Sandlin, Dudley Caravalho, Cheri Sandlin, The Tony Hawk Foundation, and The Roots Advocates for Youth for all the work they have done to bring this dream to completion.
We had the pleasure of documenting the opening day and blessing ceremony which was performed by Kaulana and Kealoha from HawaiiWeddingsAndBlessings.com. We also spoke with Cindy Adams from the Hawaii Meth Project and their "Not even once" campaign.
Please support all of these good people.
